Net Metering Calculator

Net metering allows solar homeowners to send excess electricity back to the grid in exchange for credits on their utility bill. When your panels produce more than you use (typically midday), the excess flows to the grid and your meter runs backward. At night, you draw from the grid and use those credits. Most states have some form of net metering, but the rates and rules vary significantly.
